Roaring Lions 2010
The management of our condo had organised a lion dance performance over the weekend, and that attracted a whole bunch of residents to the lobby downstairs to witness the performance. The performance was scheduled to start at 11am, and about 10 minutes before it started, the JMC president had this brilliant idea of sounding the drums to call everybody down....! Which worked by the way LOL!

Creamy Butter Chicken

Creamy nom nom~~~

Everybody loves this dish. What's not to love, right? It has butter, a velvety sauce, the aromatic flavour of curry leaves and the spiciness of chilli padi. And you can use meat or seafood for this dish too :D

Ingredients:
Chicken breast, deboned and cut into bite sizes
A handful of curry leaves
A cup of evaporated milk
2-3 chilli padi (remove the seeds) - this is optional, should you prefer a less spicy dish
2 tbps of butter
1/2 tps of curry powder
A pinch of sugar
A slice of cheddar cheese - this is optional as well, I added it in to make the sauce cheesier :P

To marinate the chicken:
2 tbps of flour
1 egg
1 tps of soy sauce
Freshly ground black pepper

Marinate the chicken with marinade and keep the chicken inside the fridge for a few hours. Bring the meat out to room temperature for about an hour before you cook the sauce. Heat up some oil, and deep fry the chicken pieces until golden brown. Set aside.

Next, heat up another pan, and as the pan gets hot, lower the flames to medium and melt the butter (the reason you want to lower the flame is so that you don't burn the butter). As the butter melts, toss the curry leaves and chilli padi into the butter and stir fry until aromatic. Pour the evaporated milk into the pan and add the curry powder and sugar. Keep stirring as the sauce thickens. Add the cheddar cheese and keep stirring until the cheese melts. Add the chicken pieces and stir a few more minutes, making sure to coat the chicken with the sauce. Dish and serve :)

2 weeks ago these marks didn't appear on the wall. As we clean the house every weekend, I most definitely didn't see these marks anywhere on any walls. 2 weeks after, when we're back from our recent CNY break, they made their appearance on a few spots. Time to call in the professionals.

It's that time of the year again! This time around, let us all put our hands together to welcome the fearsome TIGER! I'll be away for a few days, going back to hubby's home town. Gotta pack quite a bit of stuff to bring back to my inlaws (as usual, bearing gifts and angpows).

Excuse the header, but if there's one thing that pisses me off, is how some men can't be men.

You rather jump onto some cock sucking bitch you just got to know and ditch the one you've been with for almost a decade. And all you could think of to say was... "I don't think you're suitable for me."

That's not the worst part. The worst part was that you blatantly made plans with that new chick, and made it known to your ex. Hell, you couldn't even make the break-up gentle. You had to rub it in, rub salt to her wounds. Totally not a gentleman at all. Then again, looking at your face, I doubt there's any gentleman genes in you anyway. You suck balls.

I'm not going to comment on your relationship with your ex. As far as that goes, it's over. I hope you find your cheap thrills exciting. And I believe that, given time, your ex will rise up and stand tall. She will never be alone. She has her friends.

If you truly love someone, you will never be so easily swayed. This happening only goes to prove that, you never loved her enough to begin with. Hence you do not deserve her.

Chinese New Year Plant
My parents bought this plant for us from Cameron Highlands. I have no idea what plant this is really. It's like a cross between lemon, capsicum and tomato, all rolled into one. There are no leaves nor soil in the pot, and the branches are just stuck in some kind of foam inside the flower pot.

One of my friend says it's some tetek kambing (goat's tits) or some shit like that, HAHA! My mum says... that the people whom she bought this plant from says... that this plant is able to last until after Chinese New Year, after which it will just wither away lah.

Whatever mutation this is, it's bringing a lot of bright colours into the house, and we're liking it :) ONG AAAHHHHH!!!!

Mutant yellow plant, bring us some good wealth!

Working Late
I am at the office typing this, while waiting for hubby to come pick me up. Had to work late today. And it's hubby's birthday too. Plus our 5th ROM anniversary. Sorry dear, I'll make it up to you on another day :(((((

Sinfully Good~
Asparagus with bacon is like chicken with thyme. They go very very well together :D I made a batch of these 2 weekends straight, because hubby loved it so much, hehe! It's a simple, easy-to-dish. No tricks in volved, no need for marination bla bla. Just straight out from the packet, wa-lah! Of course you have to pan fry the bacon for a few minutes to get the crispy underside la, hehe!

And what's more, asparagus are rich in vitamins and minerals. Read more about the benefits of asparagus here. Preparing this dish is so simple, you can close both eyes to prepare it.

Ingredients:
1) A pack of asparagus (Carrefour sells Thai asparagus for about RM 4/pack. If you have a bigger budget, try the Dutch variant or even the organic ones)
2) 6 slices of bacon (again, this can vary depending on how much asparagus you have)
3) Freshly ground black pepper

Asparagus wrapped with bacon, nom nom~

Give the asparagus a good rinse and pat them dry. Take a slice of bacon and wrap the asparagus up, securing the end with a small toothpick. That should help keep the bacon wrapped up nicely. Sprinkle freshly ground black pepper all over the asparagus and heat up the pan. Pour a little bit of olive oil onto the pan and let the oil heat up a bit before you place the wrapped asparagus onto the pan. When the oil is heated, switch to a lower flame and place the wrapped asparagus onto the pan (careful though, the oil might splatter a little bit). Sear the bacon and asparagus for about 2 minutes on each side, but be careful not to char the bacon too much (unless you really like your bacon charred, haha!). Dish it out and serve :)


Simple, right? Doesn't cost that much too. The asparagus we bought cost about RM 4/pack from Carrefour @ Tropicana City Mall. 6 slices of streaky bacon cost about RM 4.50 (they go by 100grams). And after you makan asparagus, guarantee your pee sibeh smelly BWAHAHAHAHA!!!
